August is full of activity on the Peninsula from catching the big one off the Long Beach coast to music to your ears, celebrating blues and jazz. It is all about the five senses in August and to top off the month is Kite Festival. But what would a Kite Festival be without the masters of the Kites? I was fascinated by the skill and grace of these Kite operators. To watch their complete focus in catching the wind, maneuvering their kites into a ballet in the sky was thrilling. This event is so visually rich; I choose two images I thought depicted the experience. The Kite Festival is one of Long Beach Peninsula’s largest events.
