Spring Forward
Dear Friends and Students,
As we “spring forward” into longer days, I’m feeling that renewed energy that comes with the changing season. I have some exciting opportunities to share with you, along with a bit of practical news.
Dreaming of Kona?
I’m thrilled to invite you to join me for a 7-day Plein Air Workshop in Kona, Hawaii, from January 21-28, 2026. We’ll be painting the island’s dramatic volcanic cliffs, azure waters, and vibrant sunsets together. Hawaii’s Big Island offers some of the most breathtaking landscapes I’ve ever painted, and I’m excited to share this experience with you. Secure your spot early if you’re interested!
Important Price Updates (Effective April 1st):
I need to let you know about some upcoming price adjustments for our online classes, effective April 1st (no fooling!). These changes will help us invest in better equipment and additional support staff during the classes, ensuring an even more enriching experience for you.
• Monthly Mentoring: $145 for One Month, $420 for Three Months
• Monthly Paint Along: $95 for One Month, $270 for Three Months
To help offset this increase we have decreased our streaming Paint Along Classes from $85 to $70!

A Thought on Creative Plateaus
Recently, I shared some thoughts about creative plateaus that seem fitting as we enter this season of renewal:
“As disconcerting slumps or plateaus in creative effort may seem, they are really the springboard to greater creative effort. During those low times, it is ok to step away from painting for several days or longer. There sometimes needs to be time set aside for emptying the brain; don’t sweat it if you do something that seems unrelated to painting. We as artists will still pick up painting ideas. Plateaus in painting can be just simply a sign that you are not satisfied anymore with what you have been doing and are searching for another challenge. It’s all part of the game of being an artist. We all go through it.”
Remember that these moments of pause are natural parts of our artistic journeys. Use this spring as an opportunity to recharge and let your creativity bloom in new ways.
Happy Painting! Eric
