I painted this scene of Waikiki Beach and Cape D Lighthouse during my Long Beach Plein Air Workshop in July. My great-grandmother arrived here in the mid-1800s from Denmark to work as a babysitter for the lighthouse keeper. She and my great-grandfather, Heinrich Wiegardt, built the house on Bay Avenue in Ocean Park which is now home to my studio/gallery.
