Omaha Beach, original watercolor painting of a beach on the left and water with waves on the right. The sky is cloudy, the water is a dark teal and the beach is varying tans and oranges and greens fading into purple at the distance. There are two people walking on the beach.
I visited Omaha Beach with the Wiegardt Workshop in Normandy. The scene of such tragedy and Heroism was both powerful and beautiful. In my painting I tried to show this and the intensity that I felt there.

  1. For me, the dark grey clouds convey the feelings you describe along with the purple in the distant landscape – I like the way you painted the waves crashing on the shoreline.
