Late Summer Sun, original watercolor painting in warm tones of a man fishing in a lake from a grassy bank with green trees around. The sun is shining through the trees giving it a golden hue. The blue sky is reflecting in the lake.
In early September I was with my plein air group at a local park which has a small lake. It was a sunny day, and lots of people were fishing in the lake. I was attracted by the interplay of light and shadow on the lush and varied greens of late summer and in the reflections in the water. The lone fisherman was a bonus! I painted the scene again at home.
